John B. Feole, MD is the founder and owner of Strategic Imaging MD which he established in 2010. Dr. Feole received his MD from Creighton University in 1988. After Medical school, Dr. Feole entered a general surgery residency at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Over the next two years he experienced and developed a great appreciation for those in clinical practice and developed a very disciplined approach to the practice of medicine. Additional fellowship level training was obtained in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Rush PSLMC, followed by a year of fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in Body Imaging including a focus on MRI, CT and Ultrasound. All of this amounted to 12 years of training after college. Following this period of training 14 years were spent in hospital-based private practice settings. During this time, Dr. Feole was a participant in general radiology practice to include the performance of many procedures including stereotactic and ultrasound guided breast biopsies.
These experiences provided him an excellent foundation for the practice of radiology. Some of his additional training experiences include the following:
- Cook Country Trauma
- Pediatric Burn Unit Washington, DC
- Froedtert Hospital County Emergency Services at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee
- General Surgery externship at the Medical University of South Carolina
- Training at Armed Forced Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
The above experiences are only outlined to demonstrate that Dr. Feole has a diverse background in the clinical practice of surgery, medicine and radiology. These are the experiences that have shaped his perspective and appreciation for being both a clinician and a patient.
Throughout Dr. Feole’s career he has always had a desire to create. That creative instinct and an interest in teleradiology began in 2010 when Strategic imaging MD was founded. Having lived through the introduction of teleradiology and digital imaging he saw an opportunity to “bring quality care to the patients rather than bringing patients to quality care”. In other words, geography was no longer an issue. Those with excellent training and skills could help patients at any location bringing quality care to their doorstep.
Dr. Feole has experienced many positive outcomes produced by the practice of teleradiology. First and foremost, “Mom” can have her exam locally without travelling to another office. In addition, the reports can be turned around very quickly. Finally, the cost of these procedures is reduced. This is truly a win-win situation producing an increase in access, faster turn around and lower cost. Having established these reading environments in hundreds of locations across the USA, Strategic Imaging MD feels confident in their ability to help you care for your patients.
